Walter C. Matthews, Jr., 68 years old, passed away the afternoon of Tuesday, December 2, 2025, in his Chesnee home. He was born in Spartanburg County to the late Walter C. Matthews, Sr., and Frances Johnson Matthews. In his working years he was in construction.

Survivors include his nephew, Ronnie Kimbrell (Angie) OF Chesnee, brother, Pete Matthews (Connie) of Alabama, Sisters, Geraldine Holt (Jimmy) of Chesnee, Josephine Pucket of Saluda, Christina Owens (Walen) of Fingerville and Carolyn Johnson (Joe) of Campobello.

At the request of Mr. Matthews, no formal funeral services are to be held.
