Virgie Mae George

Virgie Mae George, 70 years, widow of William S. George, passed away Thursday morning at Upstate Community Hospice House in Landrum, South Carolina. She was born on February 6, 1951, in Woodruff, South Carolina, to the late Junie Ray and Lillie Josephine Taylor Sherbert. At her time of passing, Virgie was a resident of Gaffney. She was a weaver in the textile industry in her working years. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law; Kay and Nathan Blackwell of Campobello, son; Patrick Hampton of Gaffney, Special friend and caregiver; Jerry G. Hampton of Gaffney as well as three grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. A private family viewing and graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 3, 2021.
