Robert Earl Johnson, Jr., a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Chesnee, South Carolina on April 7, 2026. Born on January 29, 1964, in Norfolk, Virginia, but was raised in Shelby, NC before moving to Chesnee. Robert’s life was marked by dedication, love, and a vibrant spirit that touched all who knew him.
A graduate of Manna Christian Academy, where he distinguished himself as Valedictorian, Robert exhibited a lifelong commitment to excellence. His career with B & C Construction reflected his strong work ethic and dependable character, earning him respect from colleagues and clients alike.
Robert’s passions extended beyond his professional endeavors. He found joy in the soulful melodies of bluegrass music and was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and Clemson Tiger Football, loved yard selling and the Chesnee Flea Market, embracing these interests with enthusiasm and delight. These hobbies enriched his life and offered opportunities to connect closely with family and friends.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Patricia Cooper Johnson, who stood beside him through life’s journey. Robert was a devoted father to his sons Tyler Johnson and his wife Natalie, and Nash Johnson; daughters Anjelica Eubanks, Melissa Cox, Michelle Knight and her husband Todd, Jennifer Jones and her husband Matthew and Brittany Teal. His sisters Donna Padgett, Christine Adams and her husband Britt, Jennifer Tipton and her husband Randy, and Paula Padgett, along with brothers Billy Johnson and his wife Jennifer and Joseph Johnson survive him, cherishing his memory deeply.
The legacy of Robert’s love continues through his grandchildren Alana, Anna, Haley, Aly, Lily, and Ivy, with Ryan eagerly awaited, and his great-granddaughter Aulani. He also held a special place in his heart for Jessica Fowler, his bonus daughter along with his many nieces and nephews. Among his closest companions was Mark Molok, whose friendship provided support and camaraderie throughout the years. The community of friends from the Chesnee Flea Market further attests to Robert’s warm and approachable nature.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Earl Johnson Sr., his mother, Barbara Jones Johnson, and brother-in-law Eddie Padgett—dear family members whose memories he carried with him always.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at Harris - Nadeau Mortuary & Crematory. Following visitation, a Celebration of Life service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Harris-Nadeau Mortuary & Crematory with Reverend Allen Davis officiating, providing an opportunity for all who loved Robert to come together in remembrance and gratitude for his life.
