Richard Dean Smalley Cowpens, SC. Richard Dean Smalley, 62, loving husband of Wendy Yvonne Dobbs Smalley of Battleground Road passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2018. Born April 26, 1956 in Cowpens, SC., he was a son of Betty Jean Brannon Smalley of Cowpens and the late Paul James Smalley. He was a former Security Guard for 25 years with Converse College and was of the Baptist Faith. He was a member of the final graduating class of Cowpens High School, class of 1976 Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are his children, Brad Smalley of Moore, Sarah Moore and husband T.J. of Moore; brother, Dennis Smalley and wife Mary of Gaffney, Paula McMakin and husband Patrick of Chesnee; mother-in-law, Geraldine Dobbs of Gaffney; grandson, Charlie Smalley of Moore; nieces, Becky Quinn of Cowpens, Stephanie Smalley of Gaffney, Morgan McMakin of Chesnee; nephews, Wayne Smalley of Gaffney, Andrew and Shelby McMakin of Landrum and a great-nephew’s, Hunter, Caden, Blake, Chris, Brandon and Carter. Graveside Services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Liberty United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Tommy Turner officiating.
