Preacher Danny C. Cannon

Spartanburg, SC.

Preacher Danny Charles Cannon, 70, widower of Susan Elizabeth Cannon went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday June 2, 2026 at his residence.

Born April 22, 1956 in Spartanburg, he was a son of the late Charles Russell Cannon and Evelyn Ingram Cannon. Preacher Cannon and his wife, Susan, founded Manna Baptist Church in 1985. He pastored there for 28 years until his retirement due to health issues in 2013. After his retirement, he continued to serve in his church. Preacher Cannon was loved, admired, and respected by all who knew him as a compassionate, humble, yet bold messenger of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Surviving are his daughters, Paige Bishop, Charity Lindsey (Richard); grandchildren, Lauren, Levi, Lucy, Coen and Hoyt. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a sister, Patty Scates and a brother, Lewis Cannon.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday June 5, 2026 at Manna Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be 12:00 noon, Saturday June 6, 2026 at Manna Baptist Church and officiated by Rev. David Mattox, Rev. Bill Pickel, Rev. Frankie Taylor, and Rev. Danny Castle. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

Family members are at their respective homes.
