Peggy Jean McKinney, 87, loving wife of 68 years to Carl Davis McKinney Sr., went home to be with the Lord Sunday, May 12, 2024 at Spartanburg Medical Center.
Born March 31, 1937 in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Thomas Broome, Jr. and Elsie Welchel Broome. She was retired from Christian Supply after 17 years and First Piedmont Federal after 13 years and a member of Mountain View Baptist Church in Boiling Springs.
Surviving in addition to her husband is a daughter, Vicky Easler (James) of Chesnee; sons, Thomas Jefferson McKinney (Rebecca) of Charlotte, Carl Davis McKinney Jr. (Kimberly) of Chesnee; brother, Tommy Broome III of Spartanburg; 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at Harris-Nadeau Mortuary.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, at Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery, 5555 Parris Bridge Road, Boiling Springs, SC. with Reverend Tyler Kirby officiating.
