Paige Lancaster Venczel, 61, wife of Jim Venczel went home to be with the Lord Sunday, July 19, 2026 at her home after she battled cancer from 2013 like a Ferral Cat until her passing.
Born March 7, 1965 in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of Hannah Askins Lancaster and the late Curtis Blain Lancaster Sr. “Curt”. She attended College of Charleston and Converse College. She was employed as a Patient Access Rep for Medical Group of the Carolinas - Spartanburg OB/GYN, she was also formerly heavily involved in her family’s business the former Chesnee Telephone Company. She was a member of the Independent Telephone Pioneer Association, Palmetto and Tarheel Chapters and a member of Stateline Baptist Church.
Paige enjoyed so much in life from family, friends, the beach, flamingos, baseball, Disney World, Traveling, Mani and Peddi’s and was a full-blown Parrot Head – Jimmy Buffet, and she also celebrated every holiday and every birthday like no other.
Surviving in addition to her husband and mother are her children, Brittany Wheeler (Bruce), Tawnie McSwain (Thomas), Blain Babcock (Morgan), Parker Babcock; brother, Curtis “Curty” Lancaster (Lisa); grandchildren, Gavin Wheeler, Liam Wheeler, Bentlee Bishop, Coltan McSwain, Asher Babcock, Tatum Babcock; brother-in-law, Dr. Michael Henderson and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her sister, Phyllis Henderson.
A celebration of life service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, July 23rd, 2026 in the chapel of Harris-Nadeau Mortuary and Crematory with Dr. David Lancaster officiating. The family request that in honor of Paige that everyone wear BRIGHT pink and green which were her favorite colors.
“Do not be afraid for I am with you. Do not be anxious for I am your God. I will fortify you, yes, I will help you. I will really hold on to you with my right hand of righteousness.” Isaiah 41:10-13
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Stateline Baptist Church Mission Trip, 1328 State Line Rd, Gaffney, SC 29341, Gibbs Cancer Center & Research Institute, 380 Serpentine Drive Spartanburg, SC 29303 or to St. Judes Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
Family members are at the home of Jim and Paige Venczel.
