Myrle Harris Bostic

Myrle Jeanette Harris Bostic, 88, loving wife of the late Don Bostic, passed away early Wednesday morning, July 27, 2022, at her home in the State Line community of Cherokee county, following a long struggle with rheumatoid arthritis complicated by the effects of hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.  She is predeceased by her parents, Baxter Dean and Thelma Price Harris, brother, Joe Dean Harris, and sister, Barbara Harris Hand.  Left to cherish her memory are her son-in-law and daughter, Rev. Todd and Lynn Justice, granddaughter, Hannah Justice, and her aunt, Emmaree Peeler whom she thought of as sister.

Mrs. Bostic filled her days and years as a homemaker caring for those she loved.  She enjoyed spending her summer days cutting the grass and maintaining the grounds around her and her parents’ homes and canning and preserving from the family garden.  Most evenings she would visit with her parents and spent many of them rocking on the porch and talking about the happenings of the day or times gone by with her mother.  Following her husband’s stroke, she devoted herself to diligently caring for his every need.  She cherished her granddaughter, Hannah, and the times the two of them spent together coloring, playing with the kitties, or puttering around the yard.  In Mrs. Bostic’s last years, Hannah took on the role of caregiver and loving cared for her with the utmost patience and compassion.  For this, her parents will be eternally grateful. 

Visitation for Mrs. Bostic will be held in the Harris-Nadeau Mortuary Chapel, Chesnee, SC, on Monday, August 1, 2022 from 12:00-12:40 pm followed by a graveside service at 1:00 pm at the State Line Baptist Church cemetery, Gaffney, SC, where Mrs. Bostic was a longtime member, which will be conducted by the Rev. Todd Justice accompanied in song by Mrs. Michelle Ford.

Memorials may be made to State Line Baptist Church or Meals on Wheels of Cherokee County. 

Sincerest thanks to the those who made Mrs. Bostic’s last days easier and brighter including the team at Hospice Compassus of Gaffney, SC, her visiting caregivers, Terry Adams and Shannon Kitchens, the volunteers of Meals on Wheels of Cherokee County, and to Steve Nadeau for his professionalism and courtesy in preparation for her service.
