Martha E. Mullinax

Martha Evans Mullinax, wife of K. Macpherson Edgar, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, April 26, 2026 at her home.

Born October 1, 1941 in Spartanburg, she was a daughter of the late Ben Evans and Nettie Parham. She was retired from Southern Bell and also worked for S.C. School for the Deaf and Blind, Mary Black Hospital. She was a member of the Drayton Dolls, Stable Life Worship Center and a former member of Zion Hill Baptist Church for several years.

Surviving in addition to her husband are daughters, Beni Bost, Kaye Calvert (Larry), Bobbi Kirby; son, Ken Edgar (Lois); grandchildren, Chanda Sprouse (Mark), Kristopher Harvey (Amber), Chelsea Wall (Justin), Thomas Kirby (Kayla), Kaleb Kirby (Heather), Alica Peterson (Andrew), Michael Calvert (Allerie), several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband Gerald “Buddy” Mullinax; sisters, Nell Stubblefield, Mary Campbell; great-grandson, Nixon Fortner; great-great-grandson, Axel Elm and a son-in-law, Gene Bost.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2026 at Harris-Nadeau Mortuary & Crematory. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Harris-Nadeau Mortuary & Crematory with Rev. Joe White and Rev. Keith Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

The family would like to give a special thank you to her caregivers, Elizabeth Humphries, MaryAnn Harris and Donna Kirby for their extraordinary care to Mrs. Mullinax.
