 Ruby Marlene Elder, 74, wife of 48 years to Jerry Elder, went home to be with the Lord at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2024 at Regional Hospice Home. 

Born October 4, 1949 in Spartanburg, she was a daughter of the late Marvin Kimbrell and Wilma Champion Millwood. She was formerly employed with Little Miracles Child Development Center, where she thoroughly enjoyed working with the children and was a member of First Baptist Church of Mayo. 

Surviving in addition to her husband is a sister, Luanne Skates (Grady); half-brother, Gary Millwood (Joyce) and numerous nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Marshall Kimbrell and her grandmother who raised her, Gazelle Champion. 

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Springhill Memorial Gardens with Rev. Larry Fleming and Rev. Tyler Estes officiating. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303 or to Mobile Meals, PO Box 461 Spartanburg, SC 29304.
