Kristie Kaye Horton, born on July 30, 1970, in Portsmouth, Virginia, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2025, at Spartanburg Medical Center in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Her life was a testament to the enduring spirit of love and dedication as a mother, grandmother, caretaker, dog mom, mother-in-law, sister and aunt.

Kristie dedicated much of her professional life to nurturing young minds as an Assistant Teacher at Carlisle Elementary School and previously as a daycare assistant. Her warmth and kindness extended beyond her career; she devoted herself to her family with unyielding affection. Kristie was deeply proud of her role as a loving mother and grandmother. She nurtured her children with grace and instilled in them the values of compassion and commitment.

In her role as caregiver, Kristie was there for her parents, embodying the love and respect they taught her throughout her life. Kristie’s personality was brightened by her unwavering commitment to her family, and she forged lasting bonds with all those fortunate enough to be in her presence.

Kristie leaves behind her father, Frank Horton; her mother, Bobbie Sherbert Horton; two devoted sons, Brandon Dill and wife Cori, and Ethan Dill and wife Michelle; beloved grandchildren Max Young and Lenora Dill; and cherished siblings Wanda Revan and Cecilia Lingo.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Monday, August 25, 2025, at Buck Creek Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 noon at the church with Rev. Scott Scrimpsher and Rev. Josh Seay officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Kristie Kaye Horton's legacy of love, kindness, and selflessness will forever remain in the hearts of her family and those who knew her. She will be greatly missed.
