Obituary

Karen Rose Nat, 73, of Long Pond, PA and Inman, SC formerly of Wilkes-Barre passed away Thursday January 15, 2026, at her home in Inman, South Carolina. 

She was born in Wilkes-Barre the daughter of the late John and Lucille Gotleib Krugel. Karen graduated from Wilkes-Barre Twp. High School. She worked at Giesinger and Moses Taylor Hospital prior to retirement. Karen was a member of St. Maximillian Kolbe Catholic Church, Pocono Pines, PA and St. Paul’s the Apostle Catholic Church, Spartanburg, SC.

 She is preceded in death by her husband, Matthew Nat, and brother Joseph Krugel. Survived by sons, Mike Nat and his wife Kimberly, Inman, SC, Mark Nat and his wife Ashley, Long Pond, PA, grandchildren, Michael Nat, Katelynn Nat, Addison Nat, and Mason Nat, sister, Kristine Considine and her husband Bobby, Fuguay-Varina, NC, nieces and nephews, Joseph Krugel, Kevin Krugel, Suzette Drendall, Whitney Albert, Sagen Albert, and many great nieces and nephews, also survived by her close friends Tina and Paddy Fisher, Joann and Lance Maiocco, Larry Yatsko, many cousins, and her beloved dog Ruby. 

A Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 26, 2026, in St. Nicholas St. Mary Parish Washington St. Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Twp., PA. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 26, 2026, in the church.
