Josephine McDowell Westbrook, 88, wife of 66 years to Billy Gene Westbrook, formerly of Chesnee passed away Saturday, May 15, 2021, at Grand Living at Tamaya in Jacksonville, Florida. She was born on May 3, 1933, in Fingerville, South Carolina, to the late Dennis James and Leola Bishop McDowell. She was educated in the Upstate and received Bachelor's Degree from Limestone College in Gaffney, South Carolina, She was a teacher from grades Kindergarten - third with the North Carolina School System.

She is survived by her husband, Billy Gene of Jacksonville, son and daughter-in-law; Jay S. and Cynthia Bumgarner Westbrook of Jacksonville and brother and sister-in-law; Hugh and Sara McDowell of Lake Bowen. She was predeceased by a brother; Harold McDowell in 2017.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, May 20, 2021, 11:00 a.m., in Springhill Memorial Gardens, 1011 South Alabama Avenue, Chesnee, with Reverend Bobby Lindsey officiating.
