Joseph Raymond Tabor, 67, husband of Melissa Mullinax “Rat” Tabor passed away Sunday July 26, 2026 at his home.

Born May 12, 1959 in Cherokee County, he was a son of the late James and Lillian Johnson Childers and Raymond Fowler. Joe was an avid fisherman and very well known for his sense of humor and loving heart and he fiercely loved his family, wife, kids and grandkids,

Surviving in addition to his wife is his daughters, April “Tubs” Davis (Jared), Evey “Monk” Chapman, grandchildren, Emily “Monk” Wyatt, Wrenley “Bird” Davis, Asher “Little Man” Bishop”; sisters, Tonya Jackson, Crystal Childers; brother, Brian Tabor and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by an infant grandson, Baby Davis.

The family would like to thank Ambustar, Medic 14, DCI Gaffney, Via Hospice and Palliative Care, local fire departments, local city and County police departments. The family is also thankful for the family and friends that has helped with Joe’s journey.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2026 at Harris-Nadeau Mortuary & Crematory. A memorial service will follow at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Harris-Nadeau Mortuary & Crematory with Rev. Jimmy Atkins officiating.
