John Barry Mitchell, 77, widower of Marsha Mitchell, passed away Saturday, May 15, 2021 at his home.

Born December 12, 1943 in Spartanburg, he was a son of the late James Billy Mitchell Sr. and Louise Bell Duryea and proudly served our county in the United States Army during Vietnam.

Surviving is his daughters, Sabrina Mitchell Griffin of Pauline, Kelly Davilla, Vicky Pena, Monica González all of Texas; son, David Trevino of Texas; sister, Dale Snyder of Pauline; grandchildren raised in the home; Hailey Griffin and D.J. Arrington also numerous other grandchildren and great-grandchildren in Texas.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a brother, James Billy “Jim Bo” Mitchell Jr.

Graveside services with military honors, will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at Moore Church of Christ Cemetery with Mrs. Kimberly Walker officiating.

The family will receive friends following the graveside service and also at the home of his sister, Dale Snyder, 660 Foster Mill Road, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
