John Eugene Jennings, Sr.

Chesnee, South Carolina

John Eugene “Gene” Jennings, Sr., 71 years, widower of Libbi Jennings (2010), passed away the afternoon of Tuesday, March 5, 2024, in his Chesnee home after an extended Illness. He was born on June 13, 1952, in Chesnee, to the late Alberts S. Jennings and Helen Gertrude Suttles Jennings. He was a self-employed trucker in his working years and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his son, Johnny Jennings, (Beth) of Boiling Springs, South Carolina, daughter, Julie Kilpatrick (Wally) of Chesnee, sister, Marie Burke (Glenn) of Chesnee and his three grandchildren, Melissa Kilpatrick, Abbie Easler (Brennon) and Kaylie Jennings.

Gene was predeceased by his brother Hugh Jennings in 2018 and sister, Gail Seay in 1999.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024, 2:00 PM at Good Shepherd Memorial Park in Boiling Springs, with Reverend Kenneth Cash officiating.
