J.L. Gilbert, 81, passed away Friday, December 22, 2023 at Regional Hospice Home.

Born April 25, 1942 in Spartanburg, he was a son of the late Leroy Parker Gilbert and Margaret E. Burrell Gilbert.

Surviving is his significant other, Betty Johnson; children, Darlene Bayne, Carolyn Robinson, Donna Freeman, Danny Gilbert, Michael Gilbert, Pat Johnson, Brandy Johnson; 22 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Tony Lee Gilbert, his siblings, Calvin Gilbert, David Gilbert, Everette Gilbert, Charles Gilbert and Martha Gilbert.

The Memorial Service for J Lee Gilbert will be Sunday January 7th at 3:00 At Sandy Springs First Baptist Church at, 382 Sandy Springs Rd. Columbus N.C. 28722. He will be laid to rest at Mt Zion Tabernacle Miller Farm Rd. Inman S.C
