Jerry Lindsey Horton, 84, of 5833 Parris Bridge Road, Chesnee, completed his awesome journey here on earth Tuesday morning June 3, 2025 at 7:30 a.m. at his home, he was surrounded by his loving wife Frances of 65 years and his remaining two sisters, Diane and Beckie.

Jerry was a life long member of Mountain View Baptist Church, now View Church. Jerry was a true servant of God. His dedication and devotion was a true and pure calling from his Savior.

Jerry was proudly retired from Kohler Company after 44 years of service. Jerry also set an example of work and serving for all the kids at church, they loved and looked up to Mr. Jerry, sometimes calling him “Papa Jerry” and of course he loved that.

Survivors include his wife Mary Frances Hood Horton; sisters, Beckie H. Stacey, Diane Lawter and husband Lawrence Lawter (Close as a brother). Many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews that looked up to their uncle Jerry.

He was predeceased by his parents, Cecil Taft Horton and Lizzie Wall Horton; brothers, Lewis and Larry Horton and a sister, Carolyn H. Lawter.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. Friday, June 6, 2025 at View Church. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the church with Rev. Tyler Kirby and Mr. Zach Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to View Church, Building Fund, 5555 Parris Bridge Road, Boiling Springs, SC 29316.
