Harold Jake “Jay” Vaughan Jr., 57, husband of April Vaughan passed away Sunday, July 11, 2021.

Born October 4, 1963 in Greensboro, NC., he was the son of Mary Dannie Vaughan of Inman and the late Harold Jake Vaughan Sr. He received his Bachelors Degree from USC Upstate and was a Political Photographer for the South Carolina House of Representatives where he photographed many dignitaries such as President Donald Trump, Vice President Mike Pence, Governor Nikki Haley, Governor Henry McMaster, Vice President Dick Cheney, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham and many others. He also worked for the South Carolina Film Commission for many years where he helped bring movies and films to the state.

He was also a freelance photographer for over 30 years working for Elysian Magazine, South Carolina Homes and Gardens Magazine, Discover Upcountry Magazine and G-Magazine just to name a few. He was an avid Clemson Tigers fan, NASCAR fan, and always seeking a beautiful sunrise, an amazing mountain sunset and the perfect lightning storm.

Surviving in addition to his wife and mother, is his daughter, Grace Vaughan Perdue and husband Jon of Spartanburg; son, Jake Ellis Vaughan of the home, his beloved dog Milo and 3 sisters.

A drop-in celebration of life will be from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm Saturday July 17, 2021 at his childhood home, 106 Lorraine Court, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Friends and family are encouraged to wear orange and purple.
