Janet K. Brannon
Janet K. Brannon went home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 25, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on May 7, 1947, in Polk County, North Carolina, Janet lived a life rooted in faith, family, and simple joys. During her working years, she was employed as a spinner for 15 plus years at Reeves Brothers in Chesnee, South Carolina. She was a proud graduate of Chesnee High School.
Janet was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and found happiness in the things she loved most—her Coca-Cola, listening to George Jones, and spending time with her beloved grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Audrey Scruggs; her daughter, Angie Greene; her brother, Johnny Scruggs; and her grandson, Baley Skipper.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Lanetta Turner and husband Scott of Rutherfordton, North Carolina; Audrey Nicholson and husband Trae of Chesnee, South Carolina; and Debra Turley of Inman, South Carolina. She is also survived by her siblings, Gail Fowler and the late Danny of Spartanburg, South Carolina, and Steve Scruggs and wife Sharon of Watkinsville, Georgia, sister-in-law, Lynn Scruggs of Cedar Park, Texas; her grandchildren, Ben, Dallas, Haley, Brooke, RJ, Abbi, and Brantley; and three great-grandchildren.
Also surviving is Scott Martin (“Peanut”), whom she considered a son.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday April 28, 2026 at Sandy Springs First Baptist Church in Rutherfordton, North Carolina, officiated by Pastor Scott Davis and Pre. Eddie Nicholson. The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m., with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sandy Springs First Baptist Church. The family will be at the home.
