James Allen Swiger

James Allen Swiger, 80, of Goshen, Ohio passed away on March 16, 2024 in Hickory, North Carolina. 

James was born on July 22, 1943 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his spouse, Marsha Mulvaney; his mother, Dot Dawson; his grandparents, Ernestine and Delbert Morford; and his brother, Terry Swiger. 

He is survived by his children, Kathy Crampton (Vern), Shannon Huhn, Jennifer Swiger, Jamie Richards (JR), and Jessica Swiger (Jody Ballou); his grandchildren, Eric, Krystal, Brittany, Brooke, Isaiah, and Savannah; his siblings, Lonnie Frye and Peggy Bruist; his 9 great-grandchildren, several nieces, a nephew, and several great nieces and nephews. 

James was a member of the United States Air Force from 1961 to 1972.  

Friends and family are invited to gather at E.C. Nurre Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 26th from 10:00AM until the time of the service at 11:00AM. Interment to follow at Batavia Union Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in James’ name to the Wounded Warrior Project.
