Irene E. Scruggs

Irene Elizabeth Scruggs, 96, widow of Cecil James Scruggs went home to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, March 30, 2026 at White Oak North Grove.

Born December 26, 1929 in Spartanburg County, she was a daughter of the late James Earl Pearson and Lula Mae Fisher Pearson. She was employed with Spartanburg District 2 for over 20 years, Sunshine Preschool for 35 years and a longstanding member of Chesnee First Baptist Church.

Surviving is her daughters, Janet White and husband Dr. Jerry White of Chesnee, Dr. Michelle Campbell and husband Brian Campbell of Woodruff; son, Michael Scruggs and wife Helen Scruggs of Boiling Springs; 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. Friday, April 3, 2026 at Harris-Nadeau Mortuary & Crematory. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of Harris-Nadeau Mortuary & Crematory with Reverend Dr. Jerry White and Reverend Dr. Thomas White officiating. Interment will follow in Springhill Memorial Gardens.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded by a son Ronnie Scruggs and her siblings, Opal Garrett and Earline McDaniel.

Family members will be at their respective homes.
