Homer Eugene Blackwell, 79 years old, passed away the afternoon of Friday, July 31, 2026, at Spartanburg Medical Center after an illness. He was born on February 4, 1947, in Green Creek, North Carolina, to the late Elmer and Clursie Blackwell. In his working years he was employed with North Carolina Department of Transportation and was a supervisor over signage installation.

He is survived by his nephews: Nathan Blackwell (Kay) of Campobello, John Wayne Blackwell of Chesnee, John Earl Blackwell of Chesnee, nieces, Virginia Brown of Boiling Springs, South Carolina, Judy Wilson of Cooley Springs, Janice Smith of Mayo and numerous great nephews and nieces.

The family will receive friends on Friday afternoon August 7, 2026, from 4:00 - 6:00 pm in the chapel of Harris-Nadeau Mortuary and Crematory.
