Hazel Holtzclaw Bagwell age 87, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at the home of her daughter Sandra Drake. A native of Rutherford County, she was born on August 26, 1935. A daughter of the late A.H. and Lola Holtzclaw Pruitt. She was retired from Spindale Mill and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Bagwell and daughter, Nell Gragg. Two brothers, Albert Holtzclaw and Henry Holtzclaw and one sister Margaret Beam.

She is survived by her son Keith Bagwell of Forest City; daughter, Sandra Drake (Belton) of Cherokee Springs, S.C.; one brother, Frank Holtzclaw of Cliffside; two sisters, Betty Phillips (Tommy) and Genell Henson both of Forest City and also seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 27, 2022 at Eternal Hills Memorial Park, 1565 Oakland Road, Forest City, N.C. with Reverend Belton Drake officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cherokee Springs Baptist Church, 2699 Chesnee Highway, Spartanburg, SC 29307.

The family will be at the home of Reverend Belton and Sandra Drake.
