Evelyn M. Blackwell

Evelyn Martin Blackwell born to Howard and Millie Martin on May 18, 1938, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 3, 2026.

She was the devoted wife of the late Roy Blackwell, and loving mother of their six children; Debbie Foy (Danny), Charles Blackwell (Susanne), Dean Blackwell (Tammy), Kaye Blackwell, Ricky Blackwell (Angie) and Freida Smith (Jeff).

Evelyn was known for her kind and loving spirit and truly touched the lives of those around her. She dedicated her life to loving and serving the Lord and others. She was a member of Alverson Grove Baptist Church in Inman for many years.

Her greatest pride in life was her family, which the Lord blessed her abundantly with, along with their six children, she and Roy shared 18 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her children and grandchildren, she is survived by two brothers, Steve Martin and Terry Martin (Wanda).

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Dean Blackwell and three siblings, Jimmy, Audrey and Sandra.

Her love and light will no doubt live on in the lives of those that she loved.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 12:45 p.m. Friday, August 7, 2026 at Southside Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the church with Rev. Camden Bagwell officiating.

Family members are at their respective homes.
