Eddy Joe Byers

Chesnee, South Carolina

Eddy "Joe" Byers, 82, husband of Frida H. Byers, passed away Friday, March 4, 2022 at Spartanburg Medical Centerafter a long illness. Eddy was born on November 22, 1939, in Paducah, Kentucky, to the late Rolan John and Birtie Bell Duncan Byers. He was educated locally and in his professional life, he was a pipe fitter, 32 years, for Caterpillar Tractor Company. He was a resident of Crooked Creek in Chesnee the past 16 years.

Along with his wife Frida, he is survived by his son; Jeffrey B. (Marci) Byers of Raleigh, North Carolina, sister; Shirley Byers of Kentucky, step-daughter Carol (Bret) Maloney of Pekin, Illinois, Step-son; Daryl (Laura) Dagit of Pekin, Illinois, brother; Wesley W. (Barbara) Byers of Foley, Alabama, 4 grandchildren, 10 great- grandchildren, 3 step-granddaughters and 4 stet-great-grandhcildren.

Joe was predeceased by a daughter; Renee Byers and 2 sons; Stephen D. and Eddie Joe Byers.

A gathering celebrating Joe's life will be held this Saturday, April 2, 2022, from 2:00 - 4:00 pm at the family residence in Crooked Creek.
