Doris Clary Taylor, 90 years, passed away in the early hours of Tuesday, October 23,2018, at Skylyn Pacifica Independent Living in Spartanburg where she had called home the past 3 years. Doris was born on July 13, 1928, in Halifax, North Carolina, to Dallas Dalton and Mary Ernestine Faison Reaves. Doris was a homemaker her adult life. While residing in Spartanburg, South Carolina, Doris attended Liberty United Methodist Church. A beautiful lady inside and outside she always dressed beautifully and looked like she had stepped out of a band box. Doris is survived by three daughters; Judy Lynn Roberts and husband William of Boiling Springs, South Carolina, Carol Ottina and husband Robert of Henrietta, New York and Gayle O'Brien of Pittsfield, Massachusetts. She also leaves three sisters; Rose Frank of Richmond, Virginia, Shirley Hasty of Tennessee, Betsy Korkuc of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. Formal funeral services will be held in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, under the direction of Askew Funeral Home, 731 Roanoke Avenue, Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, 27870, 1-252-537-8888, on Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Doris will be laid to rest in Cedarwood Cemetery, Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina Local memorial services will be announced in the next several weeks and will be held at Liberty United Methodist Church with Pastor Andrew Wolfe officiating. All arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Harris-Nadeau Mortuary, 864-461-7788.
