Benjamin Danny Martines, 85, husband of Libby Covington Martines, passed away Wednesday February 25, 2026 at Regional Hospice Home.

Born February 23, 1941 in Drayton, he was a son of the late Benjamin A. Martines and Clara Lewis Martines. He was retired from Sumter Utilities and The S.C. Education/Transportation Dept. He was a graduate of Roebuck High School where he was president of the FFA, he was an Eagle Scout and a member of Polk County Unity Masonic Lodge #482 and Center Point Presbyterian Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his daughters, Deborah Cates (Jeff), Dana Arnold (Ron); sons, Mark Martines (Sheri), Tim Martines (Tara); 18 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Jimmy Martines; sisters, Iris F. Martines, Aretta F. Martines and a brother Perry Martines.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. Sunday March 1, 2026 at Harris-Nadeau Mortuary & Crematory. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Harris-Nadeau Mortuary & Crematory with Rev. Larry Fleming and Mr. Mike Bullman. Interment will follow in Nazareth Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Moore, SC.
