Cheryl (Sherry Ray) Kimbrell, 80 of Boiling Springs, wife of Leon Daniel “Dan” Kimbrell Sr., passed away peacefully Monday, July 21, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family.
Cheryl was born September 3, 1944, in Vincennes, Indiana and was a daughter of the late Melvin Vincent Ray and Mary Antoinette Rabold Ray. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting and time with family and was affectionally known to many as “Maw-Maw” She was the Deli Manager for Ingles for 12 years and was a Greeter for The J.F. Floyd Mortuary for many years along with her husband Dan.
Cheryl and Dan enjoyed 62 years together with four children., Danny Ray Kimbrell (Terri) of Chesnee, Cassandra “Sandy” Thompson of Boiling Springs, Michael Kimbrell (Michelle) of Boiling Springs; 11 grandchildren; Devin Kimbrell (Eva), Heavin Bailey, Victoria Johnson (Justin), Logan Kimbrell, Caitlin Powell (Tyler), Skylan Kimbrell Stuart (Connor), Daniel Kimbrell (Alyssa), Jacob Kimbrell, Noah Kimbrell, Marloe Kimbrell, Malorie Kimbrell; great-grandchildren, Carter Culp, Tinsley Grace Powell, Benjamin Bailey, Noah A. Kimbrell, Luka Kimbrell, Ellie Kimbrell, brothers; Mick Ray, Rick Ray, Steve Ray; sister-in-law, Candace Johnson; daughter-in-law, Christine Kimbrell wife of Vincent Kimbrell and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, L. Vincent Kimbrell, brothers, Jim Ray, John Ray, L. Joe Ray, Ed Ray and sisters; Nancy Murphy, and Mary Lou Ray.
Family and friends thank you so much for your awesome outpouring of love and support during this time for us. Several years ago, I (Cheryl) wrote a prayer for my kids, and I prayed it every night.
“Heavenly Father, up above, please protect the ones I love. Guide and bless my daughter and sons so they may rise to a new day of fun. Grands and great grands, please keep them safe and for Dan and I, I pray please dear God, never let us stray and let us all be with you forever in eternity.”
Again, thank you for all your prayers and support. It’s been a great ride! Look out Jesus, here I come!
Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 1:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. Friday, July 25, 2025, at Harris-Nadeau Mortuary in Chesnee. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Harris-Nadeau Mortuary with Reverend Andy Case officiating. Burial will be private in Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens.
