Betty Ruth Lewis, 91, widow of David Everette Lewis Sr., went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at Spartanburg Medical Center.

 

Born October 6, 1932 Spartanburg, she was a daughter of the late Brodus Garfield Godfrey and Leila Jane Walls Godfrey. She was retired from Spartan Foods and was a member of Orchard Street Baptist Church where she helped lead the singing and loved her entire church family.

 

Surviving are her sons, David E. Lewis of Mayo, Keith Lewis (Iris) of Spartanburg; sister, Louise Turner of Inman; grandchildren, Joshua Lewis (Karen), Heather Millard; great-grandchildren, Augie and Maggie Mae.


In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by sisters, Gertrude Stacey, Juanita Thompson and Evelyn Thompson.

 

Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 6, 2024 at Springhill Memorial Gardens with Troy Blanton officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Orchard Street Baptist Church, 1821 Double Branch Road Cowpens, SC 29330.

 

Family members are at their respective homes.
