Alton D. Robbins, 84, widower of Mary LouAnn Davis Robbins, departed this life on Friday, May 21, 2021 at Spartanburg Medical Center.

Born May 5, 1937 in Spartanburg County, he was a son of the late Henry G. Robbins and Maythel Adams Robbins. He was retired from the City of Spartanburg Fire Department, proudly served our country in the United States Air Force and was a member of Eden Wesleyan Church.

Surviving are daughters, Kathy Worthy (Steve), Delores S. Robbins; sons, Melvin Robbins (Tanna), Jeff Robbins, Rev. Buddy Robbins (Debbie); sisters, Dorothy Cooper, Margaret Hines; 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a son Alton Benny Robbins, sister, Francis Lee and brothers, Paul Robbins, Rector Robbins and Fred Robbins.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at The Bridge Church of the Carolinas, 212 N. Alabama Ave. Chesnee, SC from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the church with Rev. Buddy Robbins and Rev. Richard Hall officiating. A private family burial will be held.
