Alexis Shaynne Griffin, 18, formerly of Chesnee, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at Cherokee Medical Center in Gaffney.

Born April 21, 2004 in Spartanburg she was a daughter of Elton Griffin and Leah Danielle Scruggs and a graduate of Travelers Rest High School. Alexis was a loving daughter and big sister. She had a love for her family, friends, babies and Cheetah Prints. She also loved cheerleading and watching her sisters cheer and wanted to be a beautician like her great-grandmother.

Surviving in addition to her parents are her sisters, Skye Wilson, Willow Wilson; step-sisters, Whitney Bray, Kayla Haulbrooks; step-brother, Brandon Haulbrooks; step-mother, Renee Griffin; grandparents, Tina Helton Scruggs, Lesia Griffin; great-grandparents, Cleo Helton, Louise Hutchins and several aunts and uncles.

She was predeceased by her grandfathers, Winfred Hutchins, Otha Lee Helton and Eddie Griffin.

A memorial service will be held 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.

A second Celebration of Life will be Sunday, January 15, 2023 at South Wind Ranch in Travelers Rest.
