Eugene Mahaffey Chesnee, SC. Eugene Mahaffey, 81, husband of Mary Walker Mahaffey passed away Tuesday, January 8, 201p at Regional Hospice Home. Born November 17, 1937 in Rutherford County, NC., he was a son of the late Howard Mahaffey and Dollie Cooper Mahaffey and a member of Southside Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to his wife are daughters, Barbara Hames and Bonnie Hughes; grandchildren, Andrew, Jonathan, and Nathan Hames, Brandon Smith, Zachary and Seth Hughes. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 11, 2019 at Southside Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the church with Rev. Dale Welch, Rev. Jeff Hames and Rev. Clayton Houchins officiating. Burial will follow in Springhill Memorial Gardens. The family is at the home.
