Doug Harris Chesnee, SC. Douglas Eugene “Doug” Harris, 75, husband of 48 years to Mary Morris Harris went home to be with the Lord, Monday, October 29, 2018 at his home. Born November 26, 1942 in Chesnee, he was a son of the late Collis “Toll” Harris and Jessie Cash Harris. He was the owner of D.E. Harris Used Cars and Detail Shop from 1974-2011 and was a former employee of Burns Chevrolet. He was active at Brooklyn Baptist Church and Broad River Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Angela Harris of Landrum, Joy Harris and fiancé, Ron Culbertson of Chesnee, Brian Harris and wife Robin of Chesnee; sisters, Trudy Cash and husband Billy of Greenville, Mardeen Watson and husband Tommy of Columbia, Dorothy Duckett and husband Frank of Chesnee, Linda Mills of Chesnee, Elaine Hulsey and husband Bobby of Chesnee, Roberta McLeod and husband Andy of CA.; brothers, Jerry “Wink” Harris and wife Janet of Chesnee, Timmy Harris and wife Sandra of Chesnee; grandchildren, Douglas Blake Harris, Hunter Lee Hoyle, Megan McDowell and Zoie McDowell. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Kenneth “Sonny” Harris, C.R. Harris Jr., brothers-in-law, Jerry Powel and Buster Mills. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Harris-Nadeau Mortuary. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 2, 2018 at Brooklyn Baptist Church with Rev. Clay Collins and Rev. Jeff Alverson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
