Douglas Thrift

Rev. Doug Thrift Mayo, SC. Reverend Douglas Thrift, loving husband of Deborah Robinson Thrift of Mayo Rd. went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Regional Hospice Home. Doug was born in Mayo, South Carolina. He was a son of the late Joe Wofford Thrift and Winnie Elizabeth Cudd Thrift. Doug was a 1964 graduate of Chesnee High School. After high school he attended Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute and graduated in 1971. He pastored four churches, Broad River Baptist in NC, Hillsboro Baptist in TN, Thorn Hill Baptist and Shamrock Baptist both in SC. Doug was also no stranger to the Funeral Ministry. He has previously worked for the former Johnson Mortuary in Chesnee, Gordon Mortuary in Blacksburg, the former Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home in Gaffney, Eggers Funeral Home of Chesnee and currently since their opening day with Harris-Nadeau Mortuary. He was a member of Casey Creek Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to his wife is his daughter, Angela Thrift of Mayo and sisters, Doris Price of Mayo and Christine Bryson of Spartanburg, special grandchildren, Sara Elizabeth Loudon of Lexington KY., Charles Joshua Denette of South Easton, MA., Genevieve Evelyn Denettte of South Easton, MA. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Ellen Gowan, Betty Rinaldi and Geraldine Hudgins and brothers, Harold and Wayne Thrift. The Thrift family will greet family and friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Harris-Nadeau Mortuary Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 22, 2018 in the Chapel of Harris-Nadeau Mortuary with Reverend Heyward Calvert and Reverend Dr. Jerry White officiating. Burial will follow in Piedmont Baptist Church Cemetery. The family is at the home.
